This article is for me as much as it is for you, dear friend. You do realise that this task you have taken upon yourself to build a brand and be a social media influencer is no joke. Be under no illusion.
Would you believe I had the audacity not to show up yesterday? Yes, I know you saw the article I posted on the blog. Perhaps you also read all the tweets I shared, and you may have been one of a few whose content I commented on. However, I’ve still got a great deal of work to do to build the name I hope for myself. Yet, I couldn’t be bothered to share a 15 second Instagram story to say hi to those who expect me to. Not necessary, you think? Lackadaisical, I defer to you.
It would have taken a fraction of my time but no; I did not have the motivation to spread a bit of wit and character with you; missed the opportunity to build and cement the brand story. And as much as I would like to kid myself into thinking otherwise, at this stage of the game, I am not in a position to make excuses like, “I can’t be bothered.”
Having the good sense to know what to do and still not do it is a sin, I tell you. But today’s a new day. We can turn over a new leaf; spread our ideas and creativity far, wild and without inhibition. Today we go the extra mile because if we do not somebody else will step into our shoes. ‘Time waits for no man’, and ‘opportunity comes but once’ they say. So let us follow in the footsteps of great men and women who have given us these quotes. Today we present to the world all that we’ve got and then some!
