I spent years of my life doing everything right. I was working hard, setting goals, ticking boxes. But I still felt like I was running on the spot. And I remember thinking to myself, I’m doing so much, working so hard, and the needle is not moving. I already knew deep down that movement and activity don’t always equal progress, but I didn’t know what else to do. What was the magic formula? And so many people are experiencing this. They’re frustrated and exhausted because they’re doing everything except the thing that actually matters.
We were raised to believe productivity is about pace, action, volume; do more; push harder; hustle culture. And I discovered this fundamental truth: if you are not present to what you’re doing, you are not actually in your life. You’re just performing it. Presence is stillness. It allows you to connect to your true higher self, and it is incredibly powerful when you are fully here, fully conscious, fully inside the moment. Your decisions are clearer; your spirit is calmer; and your actions carry more weight. You become more creative, more intuitive, more authentic. Which is something we’ll touch on later in part four of this mini series.
Productivity without presence always leads to burnout because you’re trying to conform to what the world says your life should be instead of what you are actually called to do. But presence without productivity only leads to peace without impact. So the real transformation happens when those two meet in the middle. I stopped measuring my day by how much I did or what others said I should be doing, and I started becoming present with who I was and what my inner satnav was saying I should do. And that’s how I began to experience transformation. I started to feel my own success instead of chasing a carbon copy of someone else’s.
So this week, I want you to try just one shift. Instead of trying to figure things out or follow the latest thing an influencer says you should do, be still; be quiet; empty yourself of rules, regulations, and the noise of the world; align with your inner self; and ask, how does Spirit want to be expressed through me? Because that version of you is so much more powerful than the boxes people put you in.
In part three, I’m going to talk about something we rarely say out loud: why success can feel empty even when you finally get it, and what changes that feeling for good.
