Overall, TikTok is a platform where everyday people share their talent in a raw and entertaining way.
There is nothing polished about this platform.
In fact, in some cases, the more unrefined the end product, the better.
TikTok audiences want to feel like they get to see the real you. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t an audience for high-quality content, but the more relatable the content looks, the more likely you are going to see it on your ‘For You’ page, making TikTok a perfect platform for those concerned with their ability to produce high-quality professional-looking content.
The only thing the audience wants is for you, in your most real way, to entertain and make their day better. That means you show up confidently, in an authentic way, posting consistently to build your audience.
One thing I notice on this platform, unlike others, is that audiences are actually prepared to buy. That’s right. Creating content that sells a product and tells people to buy is okay. As long as you create content that feels native to the platform, audiences are not turned off by content that sells products, making it a perfect platform for you to promote yours.
I’d say, if you’re unsure where to start, have a look at what comes up on the For You page and try to recreate it. As a beginner who is learning about the platform, it’s okay to start here while you find your feet and get comfortable using TikTok’s features and connecting to fans. After a short while, you’ll find it easier to implement your own ideas.
