Some weird social media experiences you need to know about

Some weird social media experiences I wanted to share with you.

Two pieces of identical content, which I shared on TikTok and Instagram. One of them is attached below to this post.

Both got a lot of attention on IG. The one below has well over 1000 views, but at the same time, it only ranked with 2 views on TikTok. To repeat – at the same time as the 1000 views on IG, it only had 2 on Tiktok. It’s now at 8.

Make it make sense.

Another piece of content I posted yesterday- didn’t do great on Instagram but achieved my average reach on TikTok.

So it’s vice versa. Great on one platform. Tardy, on the other.

And I’m not going to overthink this. I’m not going to let it get me down. I AM going to keep the consistency up and continue to understand more about what the individual platforms and their users want from me – or prefer from me.

This is where I need to focus.

But not in a hectic way. I can’t get hectic over this. I’m sticking to my strengths.

I want peace, not problems.

A couple of lessons learnt.

I was surprised that one of the contents using a trending TikTok sound performed better on Instagram.

Intriguing.

It could be the style of content that TikTok didn’t like.

Going forward, I will be making more native TikTok content whilst maintaining my brand story.

Honestly, I’ve not been good at prioritising the aforementioned idea. It’s been on my mind, but now I need to act. So I will implement tests focusing on TikTok style content that I will NOT post on IG and see how it goes.

Or maybe I will post it on IG????

Overall consistent posting has increased my reach on Instagram. Now I want to crack TikTok.

It’s good to check your stats rather than notice you’ve achieved a mere 10 likes on your content and feel it’s rubbish compared to (insert superstar content creator’s name of your choice here).

Great content always wins. Always focus on this.

I have a conspiracy theory though.

The algorithm on each platform saw I had intensified my consistency and decided to make some content tank to see if I’d crack under pressure, cry and stop posting.

There will be no cracking this time around.

And that’s it.

This is the end of the blog post.

Apologies if this post appears to have no real structure, but my intent was to help solopreneurs create valuable content consistently and persistently by sharing my experience. I hope I have achieved that, and I’ll keep you informed of my discoveries to help you.

Please sign up for the workshops below. These will really help. It’s a great investment. In the meantime, stay consistent and create great content.
