Writing every day is an incredibly challenging task that I have set myself.
I also run every day, whether I like to or not.
Here I am at 6:45 pm, producing today’s instalment. That’s rather late for me. Usually, I begin my day at 5 am. By 7 am, I have done a lot of reading, and then I start writing, by hand, the daily article. It didn’t happen that way today. Unlike my usual regime, I was up a 7 am – a 2-hour late start owing to the fact that I didn’t fall asleep until 2 am. Unfortunately, the writing and the reading gave way to more pressing commitments.
So here I am in front of the laptop, pausing to switch on one of the classical stations recommended by iTunes.
Currently playing is Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso in A Minor, Op. 28 – a beautifully enchanting piece helping to build the right frame of mind I need to get back on course and stick to my commitment to write, giving you just an update.
Before I began, there I was squeezing in a page or two from Tim Ferris’ book Tools of Titans. I dip into this book daily. Fortunately, today’s reading featured Casey Neistat, one of my favourite and most inspiring content creators. I’m so glad I did this because what Casey said quickly prompted me to put pen to paper. And I quote:
How can you make your bucket-list dreams pay for themselves by sharing them? This is, in effect, how I have crafted my entire career since 2004. It’s modeled after Ben Franklin’s excellent advice: “If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead and rotten, either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing.
